How to Upload Resume on Google Drive and Share Link?

While applying for a job I was required to link my resume from a Google drive or Dropbox. Since, I already have an account in Google, I decided to use the Google drive instead of Dropbox. If you want to link your resume to your google drive you have to create a Google account first if you don't have one.

What is a Google Drive?

Google Drive is a cloud base drive where you can upload or store your files for free. But the storage is limited to 15GB only for free account. You can increase your drive capacity to 100GB, 200GB & 1TB. Payment for Storage upgrade can be paid monthly or yearly depending on your choice.

What is a Google Drive App?

A Google Drive App is one of the apps that you can use if you have a google account. This app is your Google Drive shortcut to your storage. This App also available on other platform like android or in your google chrome browser.

How to upload a file to your Google Drive?

If your are using Google Chrome in your desktop computer (see illustration above), click the "9 dots" next to your profile. In my case my profile picture is G (G with purple/violet color background) and it is located on the upper right corner. Click the "9 dots" and it will open the apps section in your google chrome browser.

Method 1: Drop & Drag files.

Then, Click the Drive icon (see below) then click "My Drive" icon, then choose your file and drop it to the blank area of the "My drive".

Method 2: Using upload link (browse file).

Then, you can click the dropdown arrow next to "My Drive" (see below illustration) to open sub-menu, then click or tap on the "Upload files" words the choose file (your resume or any file) and click open or double click.

Now, you are ready to share your file or resume.

How to create resume link in google drive?

Right click the file that you want to share or want to get the link. See illustration below.

Next, copy the link by clicking copy link button.

You can now share the link or paste it to the website where it requires your resume link.
